Children's
and Community Centre was opened in July 2006, and is one of
36 built in Lincolnshire at the time this page was produced, with another 12 planned by the end of 2010. The Centre is accessed from a cul-de-sac off Queensway, and shares its land with an adjoining Primary School and a Nursery. G.A.I.N. holds a Coffee Morning here on Mondays (10am-12noon, except Bank Holidays) and carries out committee work at this site. ![]() A view of the reception area. Through the hatch on the right is a well equipped kitchen. There are rooms available for meetings and conferences etc. There is a well stocked Childrens Library on the premises which is open from 9am to 4pm on weekdays, see Carol or Josie on Reception. This is a Childrens Library and it is FREE to join. The Computer Section of the Library has proved extremely popular. Sensory Room The Sensory room has proved useful in developing a child's awareness of it's surroundings, and is most useful when the child has special educational needs. ![]() ![]() A child enjoying the display in the Wall Detail in the Sensory Room. Playtime in the Sensory Room. ![]() Every aspect of parenting seems to be addressed by a support group or meeting, including workshops for children with special needs, for which there is a calm non - judgmental atmosphere in this Centre. There is a Dads Group, which operates on alternate Saturdays ( 10 am-12 noon ). The list of activities is, in fact, really too long to mention here, but those who are interested can ring Reception :- 01476 584640 and speak to Carol or Josie. Or visit Reception in person, there is good on-site parking. If you are not sure how to get there, visit the LINKS page, for a link to the Google Map. ___________________________________________________________ G.A.I.N. would like to thank the Management and Staff at the Centre, and the Grantham Museum and Library Service, for their help and forbearance in preparing this page .
